Home > MOCHA Funded Programs > HIV Uninsured Care Programs HIV Uninsured Care ProgramWHAT IS ADAP? ADAP Plus (AIDS Drug Assistance Program) provides medical care for people with HIV. If you are HIV positive, you need to know about ADAP. It is a program that helps HIV positive people get medications, medical care and home care that they need - and it's free. ADAP pays for care for HIV positive people who can't get Medicaid, or who are waiting for Medicaid approval. If you have limited health insurance, ADAP might help fill the gaps in your coverage. QUESTION 2: Can Anyone Join? You can't enroll in ADAP if you make more than $44,000 a year as an individual and you can't have more than $25,000 in liquid assets (such as savings). QUESTION 3: What services are covered?
QUESTION 4: How Do I Enroll? You can get an application and help by trained professionals at the MOCHA Project. One application form is needed for all four prorams. A doctor must fill out a Medical Application to confirm your HIV status. You must provide proof of NYS residency, income and assets. Additional forms are needed to get Home Care services or health insurance continuation. Either stop by or call the MOCHA Project at (716) 852-1142 and speak to the ADAP Project Coordinator.
