What Is the MOCHA Project?

The MOCHA Project (Men Of Color Health Awareness) is a peer driven HIV and AIDS assistance initiative; which has been in existence since December 1996.

MOCHA provides HIV/AIDS education/outreach, case management and community development for men of color who are identified as gay, bi-sexual, or men who have sex with men. Currently multiple funding sources support the MOCHA Project's mission and programming and includes:

Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
NYS Uninsured Care Program (ADAP)
AIDS Institute of the New York State Health Department
Ryan White Title II Funds
Department of Health (DOH)
Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
NYS Office of Minority Health (OMH)
