What Is the MOCHA Project?

The MOCHA Project (Men Of Color Health Awareness) is a peer driven HIV and AIDS assistance initiative; which has been in existence since December 1996.

MOCHA provides HIV/AIDS education/outreach, case management and community development for men of color who are identified as gay, bi-sexual, or men who have sex with men. Currently multiple funding sources support the MOCHA Project's mission and programming and includes:

  • Centers for Disease Control (CDC)
  • NYS Uninsured Care Program (ADAP)
  • AIDS Institute of the New York State Health Department
  • Ryan White Title II Funds
  • Department of Health (DOH)
  • Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)
  • NYS Office of Minority Health (OMH)
